Finding investment is hard, and I understand that support often comes at a cost. However, being asked to pay a significant upfront fee (over £20,000) before any investor introductions felt excessive, especially as a bootstrapped founder. At such an early stage, paying large sums with no guarantees can feel like money lost rather than progress made. A smaller fee, success-based payment, or shared-risk model would better reflect the realities founders face.


