Genesis Ventures

We raised capital from Genesis Ventures via a convertible note round. The process from first meeting to approval was excellent and moved quickly. However, closing was slower and more cumbersome than expected due to the requirement to secure 40% match funding from angels, as well as additional paperwork and process overhead. Post-investment, Genesis Ventures has been largely a passive investor, which suited us and allowed us to focus on execution. They do not follow on in later rounds, which makes future fundraising more difficult, but they do provide support where they can to help you get to the next round.
